Konzerthaus Berlin in Germany [Art&Design]

妹がブログでベルリンのコンツェルトハウスで演奏してきたことにふれています。今回はそのホールの話を…。

My sister has mentioned about the "Konzerthaus Berlin" in her weblog that she performed there the other day. So I think that I'd like to talk about the hall this time.

Konzerthaus Berlin ベルリンのコンツェルトハウス

私が昨年春にベルリンに行った際、観光がてら立ち寄ったのがこの建物。公演案内を眺めていたところ、館内ツアーがあることを発見。さっそく予約し、後日参加することに。あいにくタイミングが合わずドイツ語によるツアーだったので（←英語版も有）、固有名詞や音楽用語以外何を話しているのか全く分からなかったのですが、それなりに楽しめるものでした。

When I went to Berlin, I called at this building as sightseeing. While I was watching the concert's leaflet, I found the guided tour. I booked that tour immediately, and a few days later I joined in.

The scene of guided tours ガイドツアーの様子 Regrettably, this guided tour was in German (of course the English version also exists), so that I couldn't understand almost everything except musical words and proper noun. However, I enjoyed it very much.

ドイツの新古典主義を代表する建築家、カルル・フリードリッヒ・シンケル（Karl Friedrich Schinkel）の代表的作品としても有名なこの建物はもとは劇場として1818〜1821年の間に建てられました。数度の内部改装と第二次世界大戦終戦の年の完全破壊、1979〜1984年の再建を経て、現在は外観のみですが、シンケルの作品として味わうことができるようです。

The Konzerthaus Berlin was built as a theatre between 1818 and 1821 by Karl Friedrich Schinkel who was a foremost German neo-classical architect. The interior of the building had changed several times and was completely destroyed at the end of World War II in 1945. Then this building was given an entirely new interior by reconstruction between 1979 and 1984. Nowadays we can see only the exterior of the building as Schinkel's work.

この建物には６つのホールがあり、今日では550以上の公演が４つのホールで開催されているそうです。

Großer Saal (=大ホール/1,500席)：オーケストラ＆パイプオルガン公演用ホール
Kleiner Saal (=小ホール/400席)：室内楽公演用ホール
Werner-Otto-Saal (260席)：現代曲の演奏やミュージカル公演用ホール
Musikclub (80席)：朗読会や子供向け公演用ホール
Ludwig van Beethoven-Saal (ルードヴィヒ・ヴァン・ベートーヴェンザール)：休憩室＆ロビー
Carl Maria von Weber-Saal (カール・マリア・フォン・ウェーバーザール)：休憩室＆ロビー

＊「Saal（ザール）」とは「ホール」の意

妹はこの大ホールで演奏をしてきたとのこと。さぞや気持ちが良かっただろうに〜。

This building has 6 halls. Nowadays, over 550 events take place in the four halls;

Großer Saal (=Great Hall/1,500-seat) : For orchestra concerts and pipe organ's concerts
Kleiner Saal (=Small Hall/400-seat): For chamber music concerts
Werner-Otto-Saal (=Werner Otto Hall/260-seat): For modern concerts and musical theatre performances
Musikclub (80-seat): For scenic productions, readings and performances for children
Ludwig van Beethoven-Saal (=Ludwig van Beethoven Hall): Foyer
Carl Maria von Weber-Saal (=Carl Maria von Weber Hall): Foyer

My sister performed in the Great Hall. She probably must have felt so good for playing.

ツアーも終盤にさしかかったところ、運良く大ホールでのパイプオルガン演奏のリハーサルに遭遇。生の音を聞くことができ、ちょっと感激。荘厳な響きだったことを未だに覚えています。

毎週土曜日に開催されているこのガイドツアー（３ユーロ／90分超）。
ベルリンに行く機会のある方にはぜひオススメしたいスポットですね。

This guided tour is held in every Saturday. (3 Euro/About 90 mins)
I suggest this place for the people who goes to Berlin.
