Traditional Design at Ōme Taisai (Part1) [Art&Design]
お祭りというのは日本の伝統的なデザインを学べる場所だったりします。前回紹介した青梅大祭でも然り…。
I think the festival may be the opportunity of learning the Japanese traditional design. I could also learn at the Ōme Taisai which I wrote at the last weblog.
様々な山車が行き交うこのお祭りではいろいろな意匠に出会いました。
At Ōme Taisai 青梅大祭にて
I saw many designs at this festival that many floats come and go.

木彫が凝っていたり…、
For example, the float with rich carving..., |

天井に鶴が描かれたものがあったり…、
the picture of cranes drawn in ceiling..., |
提灯や刺繍が凝っているものなど、
見ているだけでも楽しい！
the elaborated Japanese lanterns, embroideries, and so on.

綱の色使いも素敵ですね。
Coloring of the rope is also wonderful. |

そして極めつけは、山車の後ろ姿。
And, finally, the back figure of the festival floats were so nice. |
山車もいろいろ…。
先人たちが残した普遍的な美しさに感服です。
There were various floats...
I admire the ancestor's works, and the universal beauty.
