TOKYO ENSEMBLE 2009 [Music]

18日の夜、妹の出演する『東京アンサンブル　東京公演2009』を聴きに東京オペラシティコンサートホール（タケミツメモリアル）へ行ってきました。

I went listening to the concert of TOKYO ENSEMBLE at the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall: Takemitsu Memorial (Tokyo, Japan) on Wednesday, November 18. (My sister joins this ensemble from its first concert in 2001.)

若きピアニストの瑞々しい演奏や、回を重ねていくごとに増してゆくアンサンブルとしての厚みが増し、聴いていてとても頼もしく感じられる演奏会でした。また、タケミツメモリアルと称されたホールで１曲目に武満作品が演奏されたのもなかなか感慨深いものがありました。

服部譲二さんのトークも毎回面白く、アンコールではちょっとした仕掛けもあったりで、最後まで聴衆を飽きさせない素晴らしい演奏会でした。

I could feel this concert was good because a young pianist had fresh sensibility and there is more depth to this ensemble's performance every time. Besides, I felt moved that Takemitsu works was performed as a first music and was performed in the hall named Takemitsu Memorial.

Joji Hattori entertains an audience every time with his talk. He and the ensemble members showed theatrical performance at the encore. So, an audience was never boring until the end of the concert. Their performance drew applause from the audience.

終演後は楽屋へ。気さくな服部さんは、なんとフレームに収まって下さることに…。

After the concert, I went to the backstage to meet some performers. Mr. Hattori joined amiably our photo session.

帰りがけにオペラシティ内のクリスマスイルミネーションを見ることができました。
演奏会の余韻に浸りながら、美しいきらめきの中を抜けていくのは何とも贅沢な気分…。

また、聴きに行ける日を楽しみにしています。

On the way back from concert, I could see the illumination of X'mas tree inside of the Tokyo Opera City. While basking in the after math of concert, I passed through it, I felt luxurious mood.

I'm looking forward to listening this ensemble in the near future again.

Duo Concert [Music]

妹の出演するデュオコンサートの東京公演が5日の夜、無事に終わりました。

The duo concert which my youngest sister performs finished successfully on last Thursday night.

ヴァイオリンリサイタルではなく、あくまでデュオというコンセプト。
トリオ時代とはひと味違う、紡ぎ出される音の色をじっくりと楽しめるようなコンサートでした。

今後の二人の活躍に期待したいですね。

The concept of this concert is only Duo concert, is not Violin recital.
Compared with when they played as a trio, their performance of this time was special flavor. I was able to really enjoy their tone colors.

I expect a great deal of their energetic activity.

Info of Sister's Duo Concert [Music]

身内ネタで恐縮ですが、妹の出演するデュオコンサートが11月5日（木）に東京、11月7日（土）に宮城県石巻市で開催されます。

My youngest sister who is violinist holds duo concert on Thursday, November 5 (Tokyo) and Saturday, November 7 (Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture) next week.

昨年惜しくも解散となったトリオリナシメントのメンバー２人が今度はデュオとして演奏します。

お時間の許す方、お近くの方は、ぜひおいでください!

Xmas Concert / クリスマスコンサート。 [Music]

ドイツのシュトゥットガルトでのトリオの合わせを経て、24日にオーストリアのBad Gasteinへ移動。着いたその日から3日間、クリスマスコンサートに出演してきました。

といってもいわゆるコンサートホールでの演奏ではなく、高級リゾートホテル（２カ所）での演奏だったので、アットホームな感じの中でのクリスマスコンサートとなりました。

After we practiced in Stuttgart the music with trio for christmas concert, on 24th December, we moved to Bad Gastein in Austria. We played for 3 days from 24th at the Christmas concert.

Though it was not concert hall's performance, we played at two places where they were exclusive hotels with homey atmosphere.

当初全員出身国が違う予定だったのが、結局１人のドイツ人と２人の日本人によるトリオとなり、１つのホテルで２〜３ステージをこなした後、すぐ別のホテルへと移動し、また演奏。終わった後は豪華なディナーにありつけるとあって、なんとも幸せなひとときでした。

We played 2 or 3 parts of music, and then we moved to the another hotel, and played again. Every after concert, we could eat a gorgeous dinner, so we had a great time.

The Appearance of the Christmas Dinner on 25th December 25日のクリスマスディナーの様子 このホテルの趣向で、宿泊客全員が繋がったテーブルで一同に会食を始めるというのだとか。なんとも不思議な光景です。

Because of the hotel's idea, all the customers should begin to eat together almost at the same time with the table which was joined together. It was very interesting scene for me.

ともあれ無事に終わりました。

Anyway, the Christmas concert of three days in Bad Gastein in Austria went well.

TOKYO ENSEMBLE [Music]

昨日の夜、妹の出演する『東京アンサンブル　東京公演2008』を聴きに紀尾井ホールへ行ってきました。

I went listening to the concert of TOKYO ENSEMBLE at the Kioi Hall last night. (My sister joins this ensemble from its first concert in 2001.)

モーツァルト（服部譲二編）：2台のピアノのためのソナタ（２つの弦楽合奏による）
ヴィヴァルディ：四季より｢春｣｢夏｣｢秋｣｢冬｣（Solo:服部譲二）

T.Albinoni: Oboe Concerto in D minor Op.9-2 (Oboe Solo:Ken-ichi Furube)
W.A.Mozart: Sonata for 2 Pianos in D major K.448 (for 2 string quartets and double bass)
A.Vivaldi: The Four Seasons Op.8 (Violin Solo:Joji Hattori)

１曲目では、改めてオーボエの素晴らしさを実感し、２曲目では、２つの弦楽合奏の掛け合いにピアノとは違う音色の美しさを感じ、３曲目では、アップテンポなソロヴァイオリンの軽快さに魅了され、あっと言う間に時間が過ぎていきます。

服部譲二さんのトークも毎回面白く、アンコールではオーボエの古部さんと共に芝居がかった仕掛けもあったりで、最後まで聴衆を飽きさせない素晴らしい演奏会でした。

終演後は楽屋へ。
数年ぶりにお目にかかった大学時代の先輩でもある古部さんをはじめ、かつて仕事でお世話になった方等、懐かしい面々に会うことができました。

出演者全員がノリノリなのが、このアンサンブルの素晴らしいところ。
また、聴きに行ける日を楽しみにしています。

At the first music, I realized the enchantment of an oboe.
At the second music, I felt the beauty of the tones that two ensembles' chase is different from the piano ones.
At the third music, I was fascinated by the solo violin's up-tempo lively performance. Anyway, time flashed by.

Joji Hattori entertains an audience every time with his talk. He and the Oboist Furube also showed theatrical performance at the encore. So, an audience was never boring until the end of the concert. Their performance drew applause from the audience.

After the concert, I went to the backstage to meet some performers.

The great point of this ensemble is what every performer enjoys very much.
I'm looking forward to listening this ensemble in the near future again.

Trio Rinascimento Final Concert [Music]  | [Works]

トリオ リナシメント ファイナルコンサートが23日の夜、無事に終わりました。

早速その日の模様をリポートいたしましょう。
I'd like to report the appearance of that day.

会場は室内楽演奏にふさわしいシューボックス型のホール。
気持ちよく弾けそうな空間です。

Mitaka City Arts Center Concert Hall (625 seats) 三鷹市芸術文化センター 風のホール（625席）

This hall is suitable for the chamber music. It looks nice for performing.

15時に始まったリハーサルは、まずトリオ リナシメント委嘱作品「光雫（ひかりのしずく）」からスタート。私は音楽アドヴァイザーとして立ち会います。

特に今回は初の試みである照明効果付きでの演奏（←奏者発案による）となるため、照明担当の方と入念な打ち合わせが作曲者である久保氏立ち会いのもと繰り広げられました。私は急遽この曲でタイムキーパー担当となり、調光室へ。

照明担当の方が柔軟に対応して下さったおかげで、初の試みもうまくいったようです。

The rehearsal began at 3pm. At the beginning, they played the piece of the "Light Drops (dedicated to Trio Rinascimento / 2004)" in the presence of Mr. Kubo who is a composer. I joined the rehearsal as a music artistic adviser.

They had been checking the lighting carefully with the lighting staff because they tried to perform with the lighting effects, suggested by player, for the first time. Afterwards, I went to the lighting room because I would take charge of the timekeeper in this piece.

Flower Arrangement 舞台用のお花 今年も舞台用のお花は、出演者であるピアニストのお母様が生けて下さいました。なんと美しいこと…。 This flower was arranged by mother of the pianist who performed at this concert. Her flower arrangement was so beautiful...

また私はロビーにてグラフィック作品を１点展示しました。
And I exhibited my graphic piece at lobby.

そしていよいよ本番。
コンサートは18時45分に開演しました。

休憩時にはドリンク＆チョコレート菓子（ヴァイオリニストの母手製）が振る舞われるサービスも。

The concert began at 6:45 pm.
Drink and handmade chocolates, made by mother of the violinist who performed at this concert, were served during the intermission.

残念ながら私はホール内で演奏を聴くことができませんでしたが、会場をあとにする人たちの様子や表情から、彼らの演奏がいかに聴衆の心に響き、感動を与えてくれたのか、垣間見えた気がしました。

Regrettably, I couldn't listen to their music inside of the hall, however, I could understand their performance was so good because the audience's look was happy.

そして、終演後は謝恩パーティが催され、盛会のうちにファイナル公演は幕を閉じました。

And there was a thank-you party after the concert. The final concert passed off well.

3人での演奏がもう聴けないことは残念ですが、彼らの新たな旅立ちに乾杯！今後の活躍に期待しています。

Info of Trio Rinascimento Final Concert [Music]

既に『MUSIC』ページでアナウンス済みですが、妹が出演するトリオ リナシメントの東京公演がいよいよ２週間後に迫りました。

今年の夏に発展的解散をすることになったトリオ リナシメント。
日本での公演は今回が最後になります。

私は音楽アドヴァイザー（音作りのお手伝い）として参加します。
また、当日はロビーにて現在制作中のグラフィック作品を１点展示する予定です。

TRIO RINASCIMENTO's concert in Tokyo on whom my youngest sister performs is held on Wednesday the week after next though I've already informed at the MUSIC page.

This trio is supposed to finish the activity as a group this summer. Therefore, this time is the last concert.

KANADE JOHO Piano Recital [Music]

桜が開花となった昨日の昼下がり、『上法奏（じょうほう・かなで）ピアノリサイタル』を聴きにJTアートホールアフィニスに行ってきました。

In the Saturday afternoon, the day when the cherry trees came into flower in Tokyo, I went to the piano recital played by Kanade Joho who lives in Cologne in Germany at JT ART HALL Affinis.

ドイツのケルン在住の奏さんは、昨年妹のデビューリサイタルでお世話になった方。彼女の演奏を約半年ぶりに、それも今回はソリストとして聴くことができるので、行く前から楽しみでした。

妹のリサイタルの時もそうでしたが、彼女の演奏は実にたおやか。
そして、時にたくましく、頼もしく…、情感豊かに弾くさまは、聴く者を次々に魅了してゆきました。
曲によって表情がガラリと変わる様は圧巻。さすがです。

文才にも恵まれた彼女は本を上梓しているだけあって、執筆したプログラムノートも秀逸。改めて今回の公演に懸ける彼女の強い意気込みが感じられました。

I thought Kanade-san's performance was graceful and flexible indeed as well as the time of younger sister's debut recital in about a half year ago. Her performance was sometimes tough, bright, and she played with much feeling, so that she fascinated with audience. I was very impressed by her showing mood that changes for each music.

Besides, she has a talent for writing, she already published her essay book, so that her writing program note was excellent. So we could feel her eagerness for this recital, again.

とにかく素晴らしい演奏会だったと思います。また聴けるといいなあ。

Anyway, I think it was a wonderful recital.
I wish I could listen to her performance in the near future!

KAZUMI SUZUKI Violin Recital [Music]

妹のデビューリサイタルが、昨晩無事に終わりました。
My sister's debut recital has finished last night.

Violin: Kazumi Suzuki Piano: Kanade Joho

今回私はスタッフとしてではなく、一（いち）観客として参加予定だったのですが、嬉しいことにチケットが完売！急遽、舞台袖で彼らの演奏を聴くことになりました。

全体を通して、妹の各演目に対する意気込みはもちろん、ドイツ仕込みの息吹を感じさせてくれる演奏会でした。ピアニストの奏（かなで）さんも素晴らしかったなあ〜。要注目の人です！（なんと彼女、自伝エッセイも上梓していて、多才な方でもあります。）

個人的には、今回ピアニストの提案で演目となったシューマンが興味深かったですね。というのも、私自身同じ曲をクラリネットで演奏したことがあるのですが、息継ぎでどうしても切れてしまうフレーズというのがあって、弦の妹はそれを見事に弾ききるという、良い意味でのジェラシー（？）を感じながら聴くという状況が我ながら面白かったです。

おかげさまで多くのお客さまと心強いスタッフに支えられ、盛況のうちに終わりました。

また来年春にトリオ公演で帰って来ますので、乞うご期待！

This time, I was going to participate as an audience member not as a staff member. However, all tickets sold out, so I had to listened to their performance from the wings.

The recital was, on the whole, successful. We could feel sister's eagerness, a breath of German and European style, and so on. The pianist, Kanade-san, was also wonderful!
She is a very talented person. (She published her essay book. Check it out!)

Personally I liked Schumann's piece. Because I played same music by clarinet before.
I felt a little "jealousy" for the strings. Though the wind instruments sometimes need to some "breath" for one phrase, the strings can play easy for one phrase.

This recital succeeded through audience and staff members.
My sister will come back to Japan again next spring for her Trio's concert!

Autograph of Memories / 思い出のサイン [Music]

去る4月27日にチェロ界の巨匠、ロストロポーヴィチ氏がこの世を去りました。

今からちょうど10年前、私は彼の生演奏を東京で初めて聴きました。
当時70歳目前の彼が取り組んだのは『バッハ無伴奏チェロ組曲』の第２番、第３番、第５番。時にエネルギッシュに、時に繊細に…。深く、そして静かな感動に浸ったのを覚えています。

January 3, 1997 (Casals Hall in Tokyo) With Maestro

Mstislav Rostropovich who was a virtuoso cellist and conductor passed away in April 27.

I listened to his live performance for the first time in Tokyo just ten years ago.
He was almost 70 years old at that time, and he played the "Bach's Suites for Unaccompanied Cello No.2, No.3, No.5". It was the exquisite and energetic play... I remember I was deeply impressed.

Postcard "MISTISLAV ROSTROPOVICH,1974" Photograph by YOUSUF KARSH 終演後、このポストカードを持って巨匠に会いに行くと、「随分と若い私だね…。」と笑いながら気さくにサインに応じてくれた巨匠。

When I brought this postcard and met maestro, he was a little surprised at this postcard and said to me "Oh! I was fairly young, wasn't I?". And he signed his autograph with a smile.

奇しくも彼の80歳誕生記念を祝したドキュメンタリー映画が東京で先週公開されたばかりとか。

心よりご冥福をお祈りいたします。

It happened that the documentary film which celebrated his 80th birthday was just released in Tokyo last week.

May his sprit rest in peace...

Trio Rinascimento Classic Concert 2007 [Music]

妹が出演するトリオ リナシメントの東京公演が12日、無事に終わりました。その時の模様を少しご紹介いたしましょう。

The "Trio Rinascimento Concert in Tokyo", my sister joined in, has finished last Thursday. I'll show you the look of that day.

私は、音楽アドヴァイザー＆譜めくり役として彼らの音作りに参加しておりました。というわけで、右上の写真のどこかに私はいます。
つくづく譜めくりって、演奏を間近で聴ける「おいしい」ポジションなんですね。とはいえ、聴こえ方は客席と全然違うのですが…（笑）。

I joined in this concert as a music adviser and a page turner (turning over the music score) at their concert. You can see me at the upper right-hand photo.
By the way, a page turner sits on a good position for listening to their performance. But the resonance is different from the audience seats...

あまりの美しさに思わず息を呑んでしまいます…。

Actually, this flower was arranged by the mother of the pianist who performed at this concert. Her flower arrangement was breathtaking beauty...

Ambition of this year? / 今年の抱負は? [Music]

一年の計は元旦にあり。
このブログをご覧のみなさまは今年一年、どんな計画を立てられましたか？

私はと言うと、昨年から少しずつ描き始めた"Portraits"シリーズを増やしていくこと、そして長年錆び付いているピアノの腕を少しでも戻せるようになりたいので、極力毎日ピアノに触れること、を目標（？）に掲げてみました。

"HANON: The Virtuoso Pianist in 60 Exercises" and "CZERNY: The Art Of Finger Dexterity Op.740" 『ハノンピアノ教本』と『ツェルニー50番練習曲』

"Ichi-nen no kei wa gantan ni ari. (一年の計は元旦にあり。)" means "The whole year's plans are made on New Year's Day." Do you have some plans this year?

In my case, there're two ambitions. For one thing, I draw "Portraits" series more. For another, I try to practice the piano more (=almost everyday) because my piano's technique is rusty for some time.

ピアノの先生の書き込みが懐かしいですね。必死にさらって（＝練習して）いた頃を思い出します。ちなみにツェルニーの楽譜（出版がなんと1960年代！歴史の重みを感じます）は母から譲り受けたもの。学生時代によく使っていました。

さらう（＝練習する）度に過去の自分に負けてはいられないな、と気持ちが引き締まる私です。

継続は力なり…!?

I'm nostalgic for a note of a piano's teacher. I remember that I had practiced hard at that time. In this connection, I used the score of CZERNY which had received from mother during school days. (It was published in 1960's! I feel the history)

Whenever I practice, I remember my original intention. I never lose against myself of the past...

Practice makes perfect...!?

STUTTGART Pegasos String Quartet [Music]

韓国のソウルより無事に戻って参りました。今回も収穫の多い旅でしたね。少しずつ様子をお伝えできればと思っています。
I returned home from Seoul in Korea. I got a lot of experience and meeting. I'll sometimes show and tell about them.
The following is concert report.

さて、妹が参加しているSTUTTGART Pegasos String Quartetの韓国ツアーは、５都市８公演＋α。２週間弱の日程でソウル、大邱（テグ）、天安市（チョナンシ）、済州島（チェジュド）、テジョン（大田）を巡ります。
They perform 8+α concerts in less than 2 weeks through Korea(5 cities) ; Seoul, Daegu, Cheonan, Jeju, Daejeon.

韓国出身のゲストが加わる度に曲目が変わるので、カルテットメンバーにとってはハードそのもの。私はそのうちソウルで開催された２公演を聴いてきました。お客様の反応にも柔軟、かつ聴きごたえのある演奏を彼らは披露してくれました。
I thought they're very hard to play because they had to change the pieces every guest players joined who came from Korea.
Anyway, I listened to 2 concerts in Seoul. Their performance was pretty well and good response for audience, so I enjoyed listening to both concerts.

２会場とも比較的新しいホールで、設備やスタッフ共に素晴らしかった…。
Both concert halls are newly that facilities and stuff were excellent!

ちなみ私、19日のリハでは音楽アドヴァイザー＆譜めくり役として彼らの音作りに参加しておりました。
I joined as music adviser and turning over the music score at their 19th concert's rehearsal.

20th Anniversary Party (July 09, 2006) [Music]

この前の日曜日、ホテルメトロポリタン（東京・池袋）富士の間にて。
７月８日のブログでもお伝えしたギター弾きのマスターがいるお店の２０周年記念パーティでの一コマ。
お祝いで２曲演奏してきました。

Last Sunday, I joined in the Favorite Bar's 20th Anniversary Party at the Crowne Plaza Hotel METROPOLITAN (TOKYO).
I played two pieces on the clarinet.

Comic / のだめカンタービレ [Books]  | [Music]  | [Music]

「のだめカンタービレ（著者：二ノ宮知子　講談社・刊）」の最新刊（15巻）を入手し、早速読んでいます。
音大生が成長して行くさまをコメディタッチで描く痛快コミックで、今は主人公の留学先、フランスが舞台。綿密な取材のもとに描かれているので、結構ハマって読んでいます。主人公のみならず登場人物のさまざまな奮闘ぶりがまた何とも言えないんですけれどね。ところで、某M音大＆出身の実在する方がモデルなのだと聞きましたが、果たして…？
ともあれ、これからどういう展開になっていくのかますます楽しみなコミックです。

I got a new released comic which name is "NODAME Cantabile (Author : Tomoko Ninomiya)". It's a famous comedy comic series as a classical music field in Japan. The story is based on careful research, so I'm very excited and interested in reading. I'm looking forward to reading next story.
